This applies even if, like me, you've never quite understood the attraction of John Lennon's "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" and sometimes find yourself skipping ahead to George Harrison's second-side lead-off "Here Comes the Sun". There's not a duff note on the damn thing. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band strained for significance, The Beatles was schizophrenic, and Let It Be was a drag streaked with greatness, Abbey Road lays out its terms precisely and meets them all. Even if it's ultimately the Paul McCartney and George Martin show, as demonstrated on the famous second-side medley, everyone brought his A-game. Working for the first time exclusively on an eight-track tape machine, their mastery of the studio was undeniable, and Abbey Road still sounds fresh and exciting 40 years on (indeed, of the 2009 remasters, the improvements and sonic detail here are the most striking). Abbey Road shows a band still clearly in its prime, capable of songwriting and recording feats other groups could only envy. The Beatles' story is so enduring in part because it was wrapped up so perfectly. So what now? One more, then.Īnd what a finish. Though it was unspoken, they all had a good idea that this could really be the end. They still weren't getting along their musical interests continued to diverge John Lennon didn't really want to continue with the Beatles Paul McCartney did, but on his own terms, which meant that he set the pace and got what he wanted. So when they returned to the EMI studios on Abbey Road in summer 1969, it wasn't clear how it would go. ![]() But what "like we used to" meant, exactly, was rather hard to pin down: The Beatles' life as a band was so compressed, with such a massive amount of music and change packed into a short time, that there was never a single moment that could be used as a reference point for what a Beatles record was supposed to be. They were hoping to bounce back after the serious downer that had been the Get Back sessions, which, months after they wrapped, had yet to yield an album anyone was happy with. One more "like we used to" was how Paul McCartney framed it to producer George Martin a chance to make a "good album" was George Harrison's take. Some comments on my top choices (NB: many of these are not my original comments): Perhaps others will choose to do the same. In order to improve the flow of lists in the All-Time Poll I will place comments regarding my selections in this thread and excise them from the list thread.

The accuracy is basically it will point to the structure your in and in some cases give fairly accurate elevation, otherwise it will give a 15 yard radius of the device(modem in terms of house pc). In the case of mobile IP's nothing changes in regard to being traced, all internet period uses satellites, as such your location can be triangulated to a fairly accurate degree. Monitoring your network connections is also not hacking, not illegal, nor immoral.Įffectively an IP address is an ADDRESS, with a location, and is public information. Maybe they have some more interesting technique like in article linked couple of posts ago, but I think this is the simplest explanation really - your phone connected to your home WiFi and has GPS running with google tracking geolocation.Your IP isn't some hidden special thing lol, literally anyone can find any IP quite easily, no hacking involved just googling in most cases. Like your phone connected to your home WiFi, so same WAN IP and it has GPS. I don't know how they do it, but if you have linked your google account to phone and PC, then it's quite plausible they can know where you are located. ![]() They don't, that's why I asked you about your phone. On my computer it shows my location in google maps as roughly 10km away from my physical location (i assume that is where the last visible node from my ISP is located). It could be that it's getting info from my phone, that sounds sensible. But at least for me they seem not to do that. It could be that when you are accessing google maps, that if you are logged in with the same google account as with your android phone, that they cross reference data and if your phone is in the same area as your landline internet they just assume that you are at your phone's location. ![]() I don't know if there is a register somewhere that lists geographical location of those nodes, but i assume google has access to such information.īut this only shows them up to the last node, which narrows the geolocation down to a neighborhood or part of a city. Google (or everyone else with a connection to your computer) can do a traceroute, which shows them all (public) IP adresses and hostnames of the steps between you and them. ![]() If you take one of their valleys, the next one they hit will be taken, and the troops do not get recalled automatically. It is important to note however, that the bot attacks different valleys each time rather than abandoning, valleys and hitting them again. The amount of resources the bot must fall below before buying more is set by the person running the bot. The bot can automatically buy resources from the market when needed, so just because they've got no lumber left, it doesn't mean they won't build some abatis! Remember however, that the 30 minute wait for delivery still applies, and the bot can not use merchant fleets to speed the delivery, unless it is done manually. The bot can receive resources in a variety of ways. Obviously, resources are required for comforting, and this is one of the most common ways the bot can be a pain in the ass. The bot can also be set to use speech texts, so bare in mind that even if all possible places that the bot can receive resources from are gone, they will still be able to do this. The bot will comfort when loyalty gets to a certain amount, or sometimes if it is lower than 100. The bot will comfort, but only if the player running the bot has turned this setting on and written a script for it. Therefore, it is important to time attacks close together if they are reliant on layering or range setters being out of the battle. This is important when timing attacks, because just because you clear layers, doesn't mean they won't be back. It should be noted that the bot will automatically heal troops, and they can do it fast. (Credit to LORDBEASTwn1 for reminding me of this) It is also worth noting that the player running the bot can set the bot to login at different times after maintenance instead. Knowing this can be used to time attacks to catch the bot while it isn't working, and is one of the most important piece of information. The bot does this to avoid being caught by always logging in right after maintenance. ![]() ![]() From here, it will not log back in until around 30-50 minutes from this point. Roughly 5 minutes before daily maintenance, the bot will automatically stop. Unfortunately, there's no real way to find out, but in my experience, this can be accurate - especially if done multiple times. If they start healing 30-40 mins after maintenance, this could mean they are a bot. Keep scouting them, and note how long it takes for them to heal the troops. Then scout them again a few minutes later to check if the scouts have been healed. One way to test if a player is botting, if you suspect them, is to scout them (this assumes you will get a scout report, and you kill some scouts) just after maintenance. Constant comforting regardless of time, although this could be an account sitter Split-second timing for gate opening and closing When trying to find out if a player is botting - take the following into consideration: Sometimes it seems like they are, but they're not. You don't always know someone is botting. Obviously, the bot will not be named, nor the site. This guide consists of all I have learnt from this, I hope others will be able to beat down the bots with the info I provide. I myself went to the botting site, and studied the sections at length. I don't see any guides around here for beating a bot. As it sits there is a brook fed pond that comes up to basically the base of the stone foundation, but a previous owner had that pond dug in the 1970s so perhaps there was a channel cut back to the brook or maybe they just let the water spill over the ground until it found its way back, I am not sure. From there I am not really sure how the water got back to the brook which is about 100' away. The higher the dam sat the longer and more complex the water trough would have needed to have been to get to the wheel's location. At average flow, (excluding spring and rain rushes and drought) the brook is probably 6" deep in places where its 8' wide and flows fast enough for the kids to not get too bored racing sticks.Conservatively I would say 500-750 gpm but perhaps much more. I am really not sure how to make a guess at flow and I have never measured it. Depending from where the water was diverted there is a potential for about 15-25 feet of head difference from the waterfall top to the ground level below the wheel position. I can not make out exactly where the brook would have been dammed but what I imagine was that the brook was dammed into a trough where some or all of the brook flow was led to the wheel, whatever type it may have been. The site is about 50 feet to the south of my waterfall. ![]() I am not sure whether this would have been breast shot or overshot or what. I can make out the stone towers where the wheel sat which are approximately 5 feet high so potentially up to a 10 foot diameter wheel sat there. Not sure when the saw mill ceased operation but all that remains now is the stone stacked foundation. So I know the sawmill existed for at least that period and my house was built sometime in between that range. And an 1873 map which shows the dot still remaining and also my house as a separate dot. ![]() I have a map of the area from 1858 which shows a dot for the mill. ![]() ![]() This Day in History: - Massacre at Wounded KneeĪ glimmer of hope, however, arose with a religious movement that swept across the Great Plains. “They lost massive amounts of land under the Dawes Allotment Act of 1887, and many of them were dealing with the recent surrender to the reservation system, which forbade the Sun Dance, their most important religious ceremony, and required permission to leave.” “The Lakota were very distraught at that time,” says Lakota historian Donovin Sprague, head of the history department at Sheridan College and a descendant of both survivors and victims of the Wounded Knee Massacre. Throughout 1890, the Lakota endured droughts and epidemics of measles, whooping cough and influenza. As their traditional hunting grounds evaporated and culture eroded, the Lakota, who once roamed as free as the bison on the Great Plains, found themselves mostly confined to government reservations. ![]() After white settlers poured into the Dakota Territory following the 1874 discovery of gold in the Black Hills, they seized millions of acres of land and nearly annihilated the native buffalo population. In the years leading up to the massacre, the Indigenous Lakota Sioux had suffered a generation of broken treaties and shattered dreams. Far and away the best companion charm.Ģ2) Shape of Unn – Admittedly I used this for a good portion of my first game. should be 2.ġ6) Grubberfly Elegy – Good on some radiant fights, I particularly liked it on Oblobbles.Ĭ – Don't think these charms have much use late game if you're focused on completing all the content as easily as possibleġ7) Heart – Not big on Health charms as I think Spell Twister or Sharp Shadow is always a better option for the same notch cost, but it's definitely not bad.ġ8) Longnail – Great for early game, gets phased out by the time endgame rolls around.ġ9) Soul Catcher - Great for early game, gets phased out by the time endgame rolls around.Ģ0) Deep Focus – 4 Notch Cost hurts for end game builds.Ģ1) Weaversong – You have to pair this with Grubsong, but if you do this is pretty underrated. Even without it, I don't think it's all bad. Very fun once you're good.ġ5) Flukenest – Recently found out how useful this is on a few bosses due to the fucked up hitbox. They are very niche but still far too powerful to be put in the “Very Situational” D tier in my opinion.ġ4) Fury of the Fallen – Underrated because of how difficult the no-hit build is to play but I have personally done some insane stuff using this charm. These next 3 were kind of hard to rank, but I decided with low B. Shockingly good on some of the harder fights but it is entirely RNG so. Highly underrated defensive charm that is still preferred on a few bosses.ġ2) Quick Focus – Never been a fan as I tend to focus on offense instead of healing, but this charm actually makes healing a viable strategy in most fights.ġ3) Carefree Melody – The most underrated charm in the game. Always useful except in Fury builds and Radiant fights.ġ1) Sharp Shadow – 40% Dash length can make all the difference in some fights to avoid collision. Extremely useful in certain segments in PoH.ġ0) Grubsong – Somehow both underrated and overrated depending on who you ask. ![]() If nothing else, use this on Trial of the Fools.ĩ) Dream Wielder – More niche than NMG but still incredibly underutilized. BUT it is CUSTOMIZABLE! If you find that you want to the ability to tailor your packing list, this might be a better option.
